Joe Brady – Carolina Panthers OC

Not only is Matt Rhule coming in for some serious criticism for the team’s failings, but Joe Brady’s good graces are also diminishing with every passing offensive failure.

Widely regarded as one of the league’s brightest young minds once upon a time, Brady’s basic offense that’s offered almost nothing for weeks is playing a significant role in the Carolina Panthers failing to reach their potential.

Brady went from passing game coordinator at the national-championship winning LSU to NFL head coaching interviews within one year. A meteoric rise that’s been difficult to live up to in 2021.

Whether it’s a distinct lack of confidence in Sam Darnold and not having a concise gameplan without Christian McCaffrey in the backfield, Brady has to do better.

If he doesn’t, then he can kiss his chances of landing a head coaching gig goodbye.

Just how much longer Rhule is going to persist with Brady as the play-caller is up for debate. Should things continue in this fashion, he might need to assume command with pressure mounting on his own future.

Things might change now that P.J. Walker is under center. Although that is no guarantee.

Unless Brady makes the necessary adjustments and goes away from such a predictable scheme, it’s only going to get worse because opposing teams have already figured out how to counteract this threat.
