Chuba Hubbard gains 100+ rushing yards for the Carolina Panthers

One of the main reasons why Joe Brady was shown the door is his reluctance to adopt Matt Rhule’s run-first philosophy. Jeff Nixon is going to toe the line far more than the former LSU passing game coordinator, although things have been complicated by All-Pro Christian McCaffrey’s season being cut short ahead of time for the second straight year.

This is a tremendous opportunity for Chuba Hubbard to really stake his claim. The fourth-round pick has certainly flashed at times in 2021, although gaining yards after contact and pass-catching complications have surfaced on occasions.

These could just be growing pains as Hubbard adjusts to life at the next level. The Carolina Panthers also have the option of utilizing Ameer Abdullah in a multi-back approach without McCaffrey to lean on.

The Oklahoma State product managed 82 rushing yards and a touchdown from 24 carries at the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8. There could be a chance for Hubbard to top these numbers with additional responsibility and a good period of rest during the bye.

Hubbard has the talent, it’s finding a level of consistency that could be an issue. That being said, we’re predicting a big afternoon for the player as part of a completely new approach on offense in Carolina.
