Russell Wilson – QB

A man can dream, right?

According to Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network, Russell Wilson is looking to explore all his options this offseason. It was a disappointing campaign overall for the Seattle Seahawks in 2021, so the talented quarterback might decide a fresh start is needed after so long with the franchise.

Trading for Wilson would be difficult from the Carolina Panthers’ point of view. They don’t have much in the way of cap space or draft capital to make such a move and any trade would need the signal-caller’s approval thanks to a clause in his contract.

Whether Wilson would consider Carolina in their current state is highly debatable. The former Wisconsin star could also be looking for a bigger market to play if he does decide his future lies elsewhere.

Scott Fitterer and Wilson are closely linked. He was director of college scouting in Seattle when they took a gamble on the gifted yet undersized quarterback – something that’s paid off with exceptional production and a Super Bowl ring.

Of all the options on this list, Wilson is the most unlikely. However, Fitterer claimed he would be “in on every deal” when he joined the Panthers and would undoubtedly put in a call to see what the Seahawks want in return.
