5 Carolina Panthers who’ve likely played their last snap with the team

Matt Paradis – Carolina Panthers C
When Matt Paradis arrived in free agency from the Denver Broncos, many believed the Carolina Panthers had found their long-term successor for the great Ryan Kalil. The center was a model of consistency prior to his arrival in 2019, but this did not work out for a multitude of different reasons and his future with the franchise is now in significant doubt.
Paradis wasn’t exactly the best performer. However, much of that can be attributed to almost no consistency alongside the Boise State product throughout his time with the team.
Couple this with some injury concerns along the way and it’s not hard to see why Paradis’ tenure in Carolina has been a disappointment. With the veteran currently dealing with an ACL tear suffered in Week 9 against the New England Patriots, extending him just doesn’t seem feasible considering the Panthers’ current cap predicament.
The offensive lineman will still get north of $8 million from the Panthers in 2022 as part of a contract restructure. Although this was probably a necessity at the time, it isn’t the best look and one has to question those who gave him such a lucrative deal in the first place.
Paradis will get an opportunity somewhere providing he comes back at full health. But the Panthers should take this opportunity to go in a different direction.
