5 OCs the Carolina Panthers should have hired instead of Ben McAdoo

Carolina Panthers should have hired Matt Nagy
Another former Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks coach makes the list and would have been a great move for the Carolina Panthers. Matt Nagy’s time with the Chicago Bears came to a disappointing end, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have some success.
Among the media, Nagy was portrayed as the reason Justin Fields’ progression was being delayed and that it was his offense holding back the young quarterback. Rewind three years and the media was telling a very different story.
It was Nagy somehow elevating Mitchell Trubisky and keeping the Bears in contention despite his signal-caller. The truth lies somewhere in the middle of the two narratives.
Nagy isn’t a great head coach. But he is a solid offensive mind.
Working with Matt Rhule is an odd pairing, but we have seen plenty of former head coaches take a step back to rejoin a coaching staff. He is a former head coach like Ben McAdoo – one with a better track record and more proven success.
Hiring Nagy would have garnered a mixed reaction but it is a move that would have helped Carolina.
Whether or not he is a capable head coach can be debated However, Nagy’s success as an offensive coordinator would have been a great hire to put the Panthers’ offense back in the right direction.
