Carolina Panthers select Chris Paul

Chris Paul is joining the NFL? No, no, no. This isn’t NBA superstar Chris Paul III. It’s a formidable Tulsa offensive lineman.

The Carolina Panthers utilize their final pick of this mock draft to add more depth to their offensive line. As mentioned on the previous slide, this is very important in the NFL and is hard to come by these days.

Adding multiple offensive linemen during the draft at an area of need would come of no issue for fans. Especially after what they had to suffer through during the 2021 season.

Paul is another prospect that can operate in multiple positions, spending significant time at both guard and tackle during his four years at Tulsa. While he isn’t the strongest lineman, he’s quite competitive and technical as a run blocker and in his pass sets against opposing defensive linemen.

On the right team, the former two-star recruit could develop into a serviceable starting guard at the next level. Paul would bring versatility and competitiveness to the Panthers that Rhule and offensive line coach James Campen are looking for upfront.

Obviously, all these plans could change if Carolina manages to secure the services of Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans. A move that’s fractured the fanbase further and will result in some key defensive figures departing the organization.
