5 Panthers players with emerging importance after free-agent moves

Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers OLB
Perhaps no player made more of an impression than Frankie Luvu last season. The outside linebacker capitalized on a fresh start with the Carolina Panthers to not only earn himself a deserved roster spot but also became an important piece of the defensive rotation and a core special teams player for good measure.
Luvu was rewarded for his exceptional production with a new deal. Something that could come with additional playing time after Haason Reddick left for the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.
This is a challenge Luvu is sure to relish. He was a driving force at the second level from a rotational role last time around and there could be even more to come with additional responsibilities and another offseason within Phil Snow’s scheme.
Carolina might bring in another option to utilize in obvious pass-rushing situations. But it would be a huge surprise if Luvu didn’t feature heavily after catching the eye considerably in 2021.
Luvu became a fan favorite quickly thanks to his fearless approach on every down and ability to make big-time plays in crucial moments. These coveted traits are hard to find and sure to serve him well if the Washington State product does evolve from a rotational piece to a starting position next season.
