Carolina Panthers could draft a stud LT

Finding a long-term successor to Jordan Gross has been an impossible task for the Carolina Panthers. It’s been eight years since the All-Pro hung up his cleats and the organization has gone through a plethora of players at the position with limited success, at best.

This problem has gone on for long enough. The Panthers have to find a prolific prospect from the college ranks to solve their complications on the blindside if those in power decide that Brady Christensen is best suited to the interior.

Carolina is lucky in the sense that this is a fantastic crop of left tackles at the top end. It would also be a shock if someone like Evan Neal, Charles Cross, or Ikem Ekwonu didn’t fall out of the top five given how many promising edge rushers are also there for the taking.

Any of the three aforementioned linemen could be Day 1 starters on the Panthers. It could also make this offensive line one of the more improved in 2022 considering the team also secured the services of Austin Corbett and Bradley Bozeman in free agency.

Selecting an offensive tackle could finally give them stable protection for the first time in a good while. Something that would be another step to Scott Fitterer’s plan to “drop in a quarterback and take off“.
