Carolina Panthers OL should be improved

After another cataclysmic campaign on the offensive line, the Carolina Panthers rightfully made strengthening this unit their top priority this offseason.

Underperforming veterans were either removed entirely from the equation or now find themselves a lot further down the depth chart after an encouraging series of new arrivals in free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft. This was music to the ears of fans who’ve been forced to watch some torrid protection in recent years.

The Panthers now have a potential franchise left tackle after Ikem Ekwonu was their choice at No. 6 overall. A huge stroke of good fortune that the organization did not waste.

Ekwonu is a special talent and has the mentality to cope with some extreme demands right out of the gate. Expectations are through the roof regarding the North Carolina State product, but there is plenty to suggest he can adjust well and become a real force in 2022.

Austin Corbett and Bradley Bozeman arrived in free agency and should improve the interior. Taylor Moton remains a consistent presence at right tackle and if the Panthers can find the correct fit at the left guard spot, they might be onto something.

Having a stable offensive line will help the Panthers an untold amount. Another reason to suggest they can perform better than anticipated.
