Baker Mayfield’s chemistry with top Carolina Panthers WR

If Baker Mayfield is to have any success with the Carolina Panthers in 2022, then he must develop chemistry quickly with D.J. Moore. The wide receiver is easily his best option in the passing game, so getting on the same page in training camp is of critical importance for the duo.

Mayfield and Moore certainly looked like a dynamic duo towards the end of practice. The quarterback and wideout connected for multiple touchdowns and even drew gasps with a 40-yard bomb that was superbly brought in by the former first-round pick.

This is only the start, obviously.

The relationship between Mayfield and Moore should only increase as camp goes on. This can mean nothing but great news for the Panthers in 2022 providing it all transitions effectively to a competitive setting.

Other wide receivers also need to bounce back following disappointing campaigns. Moore cannot do it all by himself, although he’s proven capable of finding consistency no matter the standard of distribution under center.

Moore has yet to have a consistent quarterback aside from a few weeks of Cam Newton as a rookie in 2018. If Mayfield proves to be the significant upgrade many expect, then a first Pro Bowl selection for the Maryland product is well within his capabilities.
