Team Fit

Grade: 22 out of 25

According to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, Samuel will be used as a slot wide receiver within the Panthers’ offense.

By putting Samuel in the slot, it should give Cam Newton a player who can create space on underneath routes while players like Greg Olsen and Kelvin Benjamin stretch the field in the middle and on the outside.

However, while Samuel may primarily be a slot wide receiver, that doesn’t mean he should always line up there. Since he does have experience at running back, the Panthers could line him up in the backfield and then split him wide. This could potentially create mismatches and force opposing linebackers to cover him.
