Let’s face it, quarterback Drew Brees can’t play forever as the New Orleans Saints know he realistically has just a few years left before it’s time to hang it up. The Saints are a win-now kind of team but also have to prepare for life after Brees now before it’s too late.

The Saints draft quarterback Jordan Love out of Utah State to give him a golden opportunity to learn from one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. This is a perfect scenario for Love to hone his craft on the sidelines for a few years learning from Brees until it’s his time to start a new era under center.

Love has incredible arm strength, leadership, and has a nice touch to his passes. He produced a lot of big numbers at Utah State that saw him end his collegiate career with 8,600 passing yards, 689 completions, 60 touchdowns, and a 61.2 completion percentage. If there is anyone that can be a successor to Brees, it’s Love.

Now that the Minnesota Vikings have taken care of their cornerback situation, now it’s time to bolster their offensive line. With the No. 25 overall pick, they draft offensive tackle Austin Jackson out of USC.

Dominantly a left tackle, Jackson is the definition of athleticism. He’s able to keep up with even the toughest of defenders with a knack at being a fast learner. Jackson was impressive at USC for being able to execute well on either pass protection plays or power-rushing plays.

Moldable to also be developed into an offensive guard, Jackson will prove to be a solid pickup for the Vikings once he’s able to put everything together. Jackson has the capability to do very well in either role on an offensive line and be consistent in everything he’s told to execute on.

The Miami Dolphins have done a very good job so far this offseason when it comes to adding veteran free agents to their defensive line. Defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah will be good but is only on a short-term contract for two years.

It’s a smart idea here for the Dolphins to draft someone who can come in and learn from quality veteran players above him on the depth chart. This is where defensive end A.J. Epenesa makes a ton of sense for a defense that needs to get younger if they’re going to ever be a contender in the future.

Epenesa will thrive in a rotational role at defensive end and be able to take a step back and grow into a complete package. One that can deliver consistent results in his second to third year in the pros as he has the potential to be fantastic. For a player like Epenesa that totaled 26.5 sacks in college, he’s definitely a player worth investing time in to develop his skill-set for the next level.
