3. Tennessee Titans (8/1)

Coming in at No. 3 on the list are the Tennessee Titans, which may come as a surprise given their commitment to Ryan Tannehill this offseason. After the quarterback led them on an incredible playoff run, he was rewarded with a four-year, $118 million extension that included a $20 million signing bonus and $91 million guaranteed.

This was a huge vote of confidence in Tannehill’s ability to produce the goods going forward. The player came into the franchise as a backup to Marcus Mariota and made the most out of his opportunity in no uncertain terms.

Former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will no doubt look Tannehill as a source of inspiration as he embarks on a similar path. He will probably have to go in as a backup somewhere. And it is vital he has a similar impact in order to extend his career.

The Titans do not have much in the way of quality depth at the position. And their hopes of making another postseason run would be severely hampered if Tannehill was forced to miss some time. Putting Newton into the mix would assist them considerably. And a backfield of him and star running back Derrick Henry is a mouth-watering prospect.

If the situation with Tannehill is any indication, Tennessee looks more than willing to take a chance on a player down on his luck. This is a low risk, high reward pickup for the organization, and one that makes a ton of sense.
