4 young quarterbacks the Carolina Panthers could trade for in 2022

Baker Mayfield – Cleveland Browns
Although Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns are moving forward as a cohesive partnership, it remains to be seen whether or not this relationship will last beyond 2022. It was a year of regression for the team and their quarterback this time around, with the former No. 1 overall selection playing through some substantial shoulder pain that eventually required surgery once the season came to a conclusion.
Should the Browns receive an acceptable offer for Mayfield, they might decide to cut their losses and move in a different direction. The Oklahoma product is simply too inconsistent to be considered as a franchise player right now, which puts the organization in a bind considering their undoubted talent elsewhere on the roster.
The Carolina Panthers know all about a signal-caller holding them back. So giving up assets to land Mayfield is probably something they aren’t considering even if the player did become available.
Cleveland will likely ride it out with Mayfield in 2022 and take it from there. If he regresses further next season, the decision to alter their mindset will be an easy one to make.
If those in power make that assumption before competitive action begins, then the smart move would be to acquire as much in the way of assets as they possibly can for Mayfield.
