Carolina Panthers must hire coaches with NFL experience

There are currently three coaching vacancies on the Carolina Panthers after head coach Matt Rhule wielded the ax to potentially save his own skin during and following the 2021 season. Making the right calls regarding replacements is going to be of critical importance ahead of his third year at the helm.

Bringing in men from the college ranks was a mistake. This must change in the coming weeks.

What coaches going to come in has yet to be decided. Although the Panthers did make former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo their new offensive coordinator following a successful interview.

Rhule likes to surround himself with trusted figures he’s worked with before – or in McAdoo’s case, someone that clearly got the seal of approval from Tom Coughlin. The one time he didn’t with Joe Brady ended on an extremely sour note with a firing midway through the team’s bye week.

One potential complication is the current situation in Carolina. Coaches looking at the Panthers know that this franchise is a mess right now with a head coach that’s firmly on the hot seat – so it’s a hard sell whichever way one looks at it.

It’s going to be important not to rush things and find some individuals that can progress, motivate, and integrate within the set-up with plenty of young talent on the roster.
