NFC South Breakdown: Week 4

AUTHOR: | IN: Panthers | COMMENTS: None Yet

(John White writes for Cat Crave, which is FSB’s Carolina Panthers blog. Representing the rest of the NFC South are Blogging Dirty, The Pewter Plank. and Who Dat Dish.) There may not be a Romo.  The Mannings are missing.  Not a Donovan is in sight.  Shoot, there isn’t even a Jason Campbell.  Instead, you’ll find a rookie Ryan, a Cajun, a Brees and a Griese.  This is not the NFC East and it’s far from being as good as the NFC East – at least that’s what everyone wants us to think. Week four in the NFC South had a [...]

Who Needs Comeback Victories?

AUTHOR: | IN: Panthers | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

We want to welcome Adam Strickland to the Cat Crave team!  Adam is a college student majoring in computer programming and minoring in Journalism.  He was born and raised here in the Carolinas and has been a fan of the Carolina Panthers since their inception.  We look forward to Adam’s insight and his passion. What a win! Carolina, after a somber loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week, was looking to get back on track in week four. To add to the suspense, they had to do it against their division rivals, the Atlanta Falcons, in a battle for the [...]

This is for the Birds!

AUTHOR: | IN: Panthers | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

We could continue to regurgitate the facts – 24 penalties in two games, 11 false starts in two games, the lack of offensive production – but we won’t.  Why do that? Sunday’s matchup with the Atlanta Falcons has become a critical game for the Carolina Panthers.  Why? This team needs to prove that last week’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings was no indication of how they will perform this season.  Getting back to winning ways will prove that they are made of better stuff this season.

We’re Still Begging!

AUTHOR: | IN: Panthers | COMMENTS: None Yet

I figured…oh why not!  I would try this one more time.  Yes, I’m still begging for votes.  Allow me to repeat myself from an earlier post.  Nominations are open until September 30th. I have never made a habit of this in the past but I’ll make just this one exception. (All right! I’m sure I’ll beg again in the near future.) Please nominate Cat Crave Radio for the Podcast Awards! When I voted, I took the liberty of entering the show in two categories – Sports and People’s Choice but if you nominate us only in Sports that’s cool too. [...]

NFC South Breakdown: Week Three

AUTHOR: | IN: Panthers | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

(John White writes for Cat Crave, which is FSB’s Carolina Panthers blog. Representing the rest of the NFC South are Blogging Dirty, The Pewter Plank. and Who Dat Dish.) The NFC South saw a little bit of everything in week three of the NFL season. There was a team that found a way to come from behind, a team that found a way to lose coming from ahead, a blowout of a struggling team and a western trip that ended badly. The result? A log jam in the standings. There is now a three-way tie at the top of the [...]

Bad News and More Bad News

AUTHOR: | IN: Panthers | COMMENTS: 14 Comments

The Carolina Panthers didn’t just lose a game on Sunday.  This note from the Associated Press: Carolina Panthers rookie linebacker Dan Connor will miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Connor will be placed on injured reserve, but the Panthers on Monday had not immediately signed another player to take his roster spot. Connor was injured in Sunday’s loss to Minnesota and was carted to the locker room. A third-round pick from Penn State, Connor played on special teams in the first three games. All that depth the team had at [...]

Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

AUTHOR: | IN: Panthers | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

You’re 2-0 going on the road against a team that had yet to win in their frist two games.  Seems like we called it – it’s a trap game. Even though the Minnesota Vikings were a desperate team the Carolina Panthers mustered a 10-0 lead by playing solid defense and doing just enough on offense.  Mistakes were being held to a minimum and they seemed to have control.

It’s A Trap!

AUTHOR: | IN: Panthers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Your team is sailing along.  Undefeated.  Looking good.  Things are going well.  It couldn’t be better to be a fan of the Carolina Panthers.  Then, something happens. It’s called a trap game. Just when you thought it was safe to kickoff on Sunday against a struggling team and get an easy win, something crazy happens.  Mostly, desperation happens.
