Spoiler alert!!! I’m going to ruin the story before I start, I guess. I’m going to tell you how it ends before you’ve read it all. Jerry Maguire has run off and joined the Church of Scientology and the cheese has slid off his cracker (that is to say that he’s now certifiably nuts)!
But there is still one very sane and very greedy sports agent still out there and, after you watch this video of him, you may not like him much.
That Drew Rosenhaus is just so well tanned! I’ll bet he smells terrific too! (Those are both signs of [...]

Kenny Mayne has written a book. The title is An Incomplete & Inaccurate History of Sport.
I thought about ending my book report there but since I was given a free copy of the book and was asked to read it so I could write this, I figured I better turn in at least a few hundred words or so.
In case you don’t know who Kenny Mayne is, he’s the guy on Sportscenter who occasionally yells things like, “Give us your finest meats and cheeses!!!!” Yes, he yells these things randomly during highlights.
He has also been known to do some interesting [...]

Tha Carolina Panthers signed free agent defensive lineman Darwin Walker on Monday. Walker had been with the Chicago Bears.
According to the Rock Hill Herald:
The Panthers struck quickly to fill their hole on the defensive line, signing veteran Darwin Walker to a one-year deal Monday morning. His agent, Al Irby, said the Panthers “were on the phone with us all weekend.”
The 30-year-old Walker lends immediate credibility to the line, which was questionable after starters Damione Lewis and Maake Kemoeatu.
Terms were undisclosed, but there were at least two other teams talking to Walker, who elected to come here to stay near his South [...]

The NFL Draft is now over. For the record, it ended on Sunday April 27th at just before 6:45 pm eastern when Mr. Irrelevent was announced.
By 7:00 pm eastern, sportswriters across the country were busy at work putting the finishing touches on their latest masterpieces that would cover either the winners and losers of the draft or the grades that they wanted to hand out to every NFL team.
Please keep reading after the jump. It took a long time to write this. I had to. The boss said I had to write something to wrap up the draft.

The Carolina Panthers completed their 2008 NFL Draft in the seventh round with three more picks. The final two picks (241 and 250 overall) were compensatory picks awarded by the league for players lost prior to the 2007 season.
Hilee Taylor, DE, North Carolina, 6′3″, 242 lbs.
He’s listed on the draft board as a defensive end but will likely be an outside linebacker at the next level. He could wind up being a special teams contributor.

The Carolina Panthers drafted for need in round six.
Nick Hayden, DT, Wisconsin, 6′4″, 291
At his size he might be a bit of a tweener. He may have to bulk up some to play in the middle. But the guy has a non-stop motor and could fit in with this defense if he’s able to add enough size or can be utilized on special teams. He’s not necessarily quick enough to move to defensive end so he is locked in at tackle.

After waiting all the way through the fourth round, the Carolina Panthers finally went back on the clock in round five. And when the pick came in…
Gary Barnidge, TE, Louisville, 6′5″, 243
Barnidge ran a 4.65 40. He’s a good receiving tight end. This is a need pick for the team and also could potentially be a value pick as well since Barnidge has some upside.
He had 84 catches and 11 TD’s in his last two years in college.

The Panthers will select again when the 15th pick in the 6th round arrives.
