I’m finally going to give in. It’s been out there hanging over my head like an unpaid bill.
Madden ‘09 is set to hit shelves August 12th.
I normally don’t get into video games at all. Maybe I’m too old. Maybe I like to watch real games more. I don’t know.
Still, because the bosses are riding me to post more and to keep the content here more up to date, I thought I’d cover this momentous occasion. (They didn’t really tell me that. I just needed something to blog about.)
We’re bringing you the highlights of the player ratings found in the 20th [...]

Final Thoughts – Don Imus Comments
We have reached the mid-point of the countdown – the number six moment in Carolina Panthers history.
It was the number eight moment that set the team on its course of winning four in a row and setting a record for consecutive wins by a first-year expansion club.
The fourth of those wins is the subject of our sixth greatest moment in team history.
The number seven moment in our recap of the top ten moments in Carolina Panthers history was the beginning of something bigger, something better.
This was a franchise that had seen brief success with a trip to the NFC Championship Game some seven years before. In the interim, they struggled having gone through six seasons without posting a winning record from 1997 to 2002. (34-62 overall)
They were only two seasons removed from a disastrous 1-15 campaign in which they would lose their last fifteen games.
This six year period was also marked by inconsistency at quarterback. The Panthers would start no fewer [...]
The Can of Worms Is Open!
The gloves are off. No more Mr. Nice Guy.
Look, I wrote three posts here that pointed out the top ten reasons to hate the teams in our division (Falcons, Buccaneers and Saints). I figured it would be good for entertainment. Shoot, it might even be enough to start a good debate. I didn’t count on this.
Of all the teams’ fans, the last group I expected a bunch of hoo-ha from was the Saints fans. After all, what have they had to cheer about? Well, that’s what I got. Feedback came flying at me. (Just see the comments after the post on [...]
The countdown rolls on! (If you could hear me saying that it would have been in my best Casey Kasem voice but this is just a post on a blog.)
We’re up to the eighth biggest moment in Carolina Panthers history.
It was the inaugural season of 1995. The Panthers were awaiting the completion of their new stadium in uptown Charlotte (Ericsson Stadium would be its original name – later to be known as Bank of America Stadium.) In the meantime, they would play their home games on the Campus of Clemson University at Clemson Memorial Stadium. (To clarify, they did not [...]
It was months in the making. It has taken this long.
After receiving no love in one power ranking after another, the Carolina Panthers can finally say that there is someone out there who feels as if they are capable of something in ‘08!
What If Sports, one of the absolute coolest sites anywhere on the web, has done a preview of the season division by division. They performed their preview using a complex system of statistics, fantasy projections and probably a slide ruler or two.
The long and short of it is this – they project the winner of the NFC South [...]
Before we reveal the number nine moment in Carolina Panthers history, I want to remind everyone that we are selecting games that had a major impact on the franchise and its direction.
The game that comes in at number nine was big for three reasons – 1) The team the Panthers were playing were in only the second game of their defense of a Super Bowl title, 2) The Panthers were in the second game of a season that would find them in the Super Bowl – a game that would set the tone for the year (they would start 5-0 [...]
George Carlin, We Will Miss You
George Carlin passed away on Sunday at the age of 71. He will always be remembered for his “Seven Words” routine. (Bad language warning!) He may also be remembered for being arrested for saying those words on stage.
I, and a lot of football fans (I can only hope) will remember him for his comparison of baseball and football. Listen to this and you’ll see why football is the greatest sport on the planet and why baseball…well…baseball isn’t. (The clip is from You Tube via Squib Kick.)
See! I told you! Football is the greatest sport on earth!
If you ask the average Panthers fan what they felt was the most memorable moment in team history, they might give you any number of answers. So, I’ve attemped to boil it down to the ten most memorable or, more accurately, the ten most defining moments in franchise history.
The Carolina Panthers have been fortunate in their brief existence to have had enough great games and plays to even fill a top ten. To the contrary, they’ve had enough great games and moments to fill a top 20 at least.
This is where we had to boil it down a bit and [...]
